– Confirmation of accepted abstracts end of April 2011.

The conference opens on Wednesday, 29 June 2011 and closes on Saturday, 2 July 2011.

CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE
A certificate of attendance is included in the conference bag given to all duly registered participants. It can be used by the participant to claim CME credits in his/her own country.

CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION (CME) CREDITS
The ICPIC 2011 conference has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME). The Conference is designated for a maximum of 18 European CME credits (ECMEC). Satellite Symposia are not CME approved unless the organisers have gained approval for the symposiums from the UEMS.

CONFERENCE DOCUMENTS AND BADGES

Conference documents should be collected on-site at the registration desk at Uni Mail. Name badges must be worn visibly all times during the conference and in the exhibition area.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE

Complimentary coffee and tea is served in the exhibition during official coffee breaks. Lunch is also provided on Thursday and Friday. A cafeteria is available in the conference centre.

GETTING AROUND IN GENEVA

Geneva’s centre is small enough to walk around. For the suburbs you will need to take a tram or bus. Daily passes are provided free of charge to Geneva hotel guests, courtesy of the Geneva Tourist Board.

INTERNET
An internet corner, sponsored by bioMérieux, is located in the exhibition area. Wireless internet access is available to all participants in the conference venue. Personal access codes are provided together with conference documents and badge.

LANGUAGES
The official conference language is English. Simultaneous interpretation into French will be provided with the kind support of Astellas Pharma. Sessions taking place in the main session room (AuditoriumR380) are translated, see symbol headphones

SMOKING POLICY
The congress venue is entirely non-smoking.

Scientific and special posters are located in the exhibition and poster area. Authors of accepted posters are requested to be at their poster to enable discussion during the official poster viewing times:

Official Language

The official conference language is English. However, considering the importance of the global aspect of infection control that will be a key part of this meeting, simultaneous translation into French will be provided for all sessions taking place in the main session room (Auditorium R380). Posters in French will be displayed on Saturday 2 July.

In addition a special meeting for African participants (and those interested) in French and English will take place on Saturday 2 July – RIPAQS: Réseau International pour la Planification et l’Amélioration de la Qualité et de la Sécurité dans les Systèmes de Santé en Afrique / International Network for the Planning and Improvement of Quality and Security in Health Systems in Africa.
