Bastiaan Wittekamp is part of the research group of prof Marc Bonten at the University Medical Center Utrecht. As PhD candidate he is the study coordinator of the "RGNOSIS workpackage 6: Decolonization strategies in intensive care" study, together with Nienke Plantinga. The project is supervised by prof Marc Bonten (UMC Utrecht) and prof Christian Brun-Buisson, APHP, France.

After obtaining a master degree in Medicine at Maastricht University in 2008, Bastiaan has worked as an intern in intensive care medicine and internal medicine in the Netherlands. The PhD project is combined with clinical work as a registrar in internal medicine at the UMC Utrecht.
